RECALL INFORMATION

CRANBROOK MODEL RECALL

Attention Huffy Customers:

Huffy Bicycle Company has determined that some models of the “Cranbrook” bicycle have a handlebar and stem that cannot be tightened sufficiently. The handlebars may suddenly move, causing the rider to fall. These bicycles also fail to meet the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Requirements for Bicycles.

If you have a “Cranbrook” bicycle, models 56472 and 56472, immediately stop using the bicycle. The affected bikes were sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores from April 4, 2004 through May 4, 2004. The bicycles have 26-inch wheels, a single speed, a coaster brake, and were available in both men’s and ladies’ styles.

The recalled bicycles have a serial number from SNHHE04C52556 to SNHHE04C76257. The serial number is located underneath the bike, on the bottom of the frame, at the point where the crank is attached.

Some units within the above serial number range may have already been corrected. If your bicycle has a round green label (“green dot”) attached to the handlebar stem, your bicycle is not part of the recall. You do not need to take any action; you may continue to enjoy the bicycle.

If your bicycle falls within the above serial number range and it does not have the green dot, please call Huffy Bicycle Company, at 888-366-3828, to obtain a replacement handlebar and stem. The handlebar and stem will be provided at no charge. The parts will include assembly instructions, a tool and a envelope by which to return the stem to Huffy.
